Gas
Permits
The following guidelines will apply to all natural
gas,
propane,
and butane gas hook-ups:
- The User/Contractor must obtain
a permit from the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside Building
Department for installation and connection of
all fuel gas piping in connection with any building
or structure. The fee shall be $25.00.
- After the yard lines and supply
lines have been constructed and installed, the
User/Contractor will conduct pressure testing
in accordance with Federal, state, and local requirements,
which will require a pressure test of all distribution
lines in accordance with the Uniform Plumbing
Code, Section 1206 (C), (10 lbs./15 min.). If
the User conducts the testing, the Building Department
shall be notified to sigh off the permit. If a
Contractor conducts the testing, the permit may
be signed off and dated by the Contractor.
- The Building Department will conduct
an inspection and check for use of approved materials,
shut-off valves, and venting. If inspection is
favorable, a Green Tag will be issued.
- The supplier shall then check
and test all equipment and appliances for safe
and proper operation.
- The supplier shall Red Tag any
appliances, equipment, piping, or any other conditions
found that constitute a fire hazard or are otherwise
potentially dangerous to human life. All Red Tagged
appliances, piping, etc. shall be reported by
the supplier and the User/Contractor to the Building
Department.
- The Building Department will conduct
a second inspection whenever the supplier issues
a Red Tag and any equipment required by the Uniform
Building Codes, which is unsafe, or in violation
of the Uniform Codes shall be abated by repair,
replacement, or removal. Depending on the problem,
the User will be given a MAXIMUM thirty (30) days
to comply with the applicable codes or the supplier
will be directed by the Building Department to
disconnect the service to the property.
